Founded at the Marlborough Theatre, Brighton, UK by notorious provocateur Ophelia Bitz (Womans Hour, 4Thought, London Fields Radio) in September 2010, ArtWank is dedicated to sexual connoisseurship, intelligent debate and celebration of the shady history and shining future of erotic cinema.
From humble beginnings as a secret party screening Victorian porn ArtWank has swiftly grown to winning awards (Erotic Awards 2011, OldVicNewVoices Creative Director 2011), playing some of the finest London arts venues (The Horse Hospital, The Old Vic Tunnels, Screen on the Green, The Royal Vauxhall Tavern) and offering a unique interface between audiences, pornography and those who produce it, as well as curating fine art exhibitions, lectures, cabaret performances and installations.
